The Home Economics Victoria Fruit + Veg Program came to an end on 30 June 2011. We would like to thank you for your involvement and support of the program over the past eight years, and we value the contribution you have made to improving children's healthy eating.
The Fruit + Veg Program was a partner program of Kids - 'Go for your life', which is entering a new phase. As from 30 June 2011, the Kids – ‘Go for your life’ program will commence transition to a new Victorian health promoting schools and early childhood services initiative. This statewide initiative will focus on improving children’s healthy eating and physical activity behaviours and will be inclusive of other public health priorities. The Kids – ‘Go for your life’ program will provide valuable insights to inform the development of this new initiative.
Over the next six months, schools and services that are Kids – ‘Go for your life’ members will be advised about how they can transition to the new initiative. Awarded schools and early childhood services will obtain recognition under the new model as acknowledgement of their achievements in meeting the Kids – ‘Go for your life’ criteria.
During this transition period, Kids – ‘Go for your life’ will continue to communicate to their network of schools, early childhood services and health professionals to keep you informed of Victorian Government directions in the development of this new initiative.
