Fruit + Veg Program

 KGFYL cut paper logo

Home Economics Victoria's Fruit + Veg Program is a partnering program of Kids - 'Go for your life' managed by Cancer Council Victoria and Diabetes Australia - Vic.

The program aims to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables among Victorian primary school aged children. Free state-wide professional development workshops are held throughout term 1 and teachers are invited to learn more about the program and receive a comprehensive pack of VELS linked teaching resources.

The central focus of the program is Fruit + Veg Week where students can take part in a range of whole school activities focusing on healthy eating and practical cooking.

2010 Fruit + Veg workshops

Every Victorian primary school is invited to send two teachers and a parent/canteen representative to attend the free 2010 Fruit + Veg workshop in their region. The 2010 workshops will be held throughout February and March in preparation for Fruit + Veg Week 2010 (17-21 May). To enrol your school in the 2010 Fruit + Veg Program, download an expression of interest form.
