The program aims to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables among Victorian primary school aged children. Free state-wide professional development workshops are held throughout term 1 and teachers are invited to learn more about the program and receive a comprehensive pack of VELS linked teaching resources. The central focus of the program is Fruit + Veg Week (17-21 May) where students can take part in a range of whole school activities focusing on healthy eating and practical cooking.
2010 Fruit + Veg workshops
Every Victorian primary school is invited to send two teachers and a parent/canteen representative to attend the free 2010 Fruit + Veg workshop in their region. The 2010 workshops will be held throughout February and March in preparation for Fruit + Veg Week 2010 (17-21 May).
