Jul 29 Tue	VCE Food Studies Unit 4 Outcome 2 Assessment 4:15pm - 5:00pm Online Description: This session will explore assessment for VCE Food Studies Unit 4 Outcome 2. Hear directly from the VCAA Curriculum Manager, Dr Leanne Compton, as well as three experienced teachers who will share their approach to the research inquiry report and preparing students for success. Aug 4 Mon	Fundamentals for School Kitchen Assistants 4:30pm - 5:30pm Online (4, 11, 18, 25 Aug & 1, 8 Sep) plus self-paced learning and workplace assessment Description: The role of the kitchen assistant in schools is varied and can be undertaken by staff with a range of skills and qualifications. This short course covers the fundamentals for kitchen assistants considered to be common requirements across most schools (ordering, storage and preparation of food, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and working collaboratively with others). Includes four online tutorial sessions plus access to five units from the hospitality training package contextualised for the school kitchen setting. Aimed at those who wish to upskill by doing some nationally recognised training or for those who wish to learn more about the essential aspects of the role. Register Here
Aug 8 Fri	2025 Hospitality Industry Update 9:00am - 3:00pm School location (TBA) Description: It's back! We're excited to reintroduce this valuable day for teachers of VET Hospitality and Cookery. Nov 24 Mon	2025 Kitchen Assistants Conference 8:45am - 2:30pm Angliss Conference Centre, 5/555 La Trobe St., Melbourne Description: The one day in the year for School Kitchen Assistants from all over Victoria to come together for a day of professional learning and networking.
